Gold award for The Lodge
Our luxurious accommodation has received a gold tourism award.
The Lodge has scooped a gold ‘Tourism Experience of the Year’ award at this year’s Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards.
The win for The Lodge, which opened a year ago this month, was announced at a glitzy award ceremony on 19 October at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cadbury House
The event was attended by around 300 leisure and tourism representatives from around the region and was hosted by BBC Radio Bristol’s presenter, Laura Rawlings.
It’s a huge result for The Lodge, which opened its doors to guests in 2015 after undergoing a luxurious transformation.
Wendy Walton, Director of Commercial Operations at Bristol Zoological Society, who oversaw the transformation of The Lodge, said: “We are all absolutely delighted to have been awarded gold in this category. To be recognised for the magical experiences we offer to guests makes us feel hugely proud. The Lodge has helped us open our doors to new visitors, to expand the tourism offering in Bristol as well as provide people with an immersive experience.
“Everyone works extremely hard to ensure that all guests have a wonderful stay with us and this is reflected in the feedback we receive. We are looking forward to continued success and to welcoming more and more people who want to sleep amongst some of the most exotic and endangered animals on the planet.”
Successful businesses in the Bristol, Bath and Somerset Awards will now be fast tracked into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards in February 2017 with eligible finalists also considered for the national Visit England Awards later in 2017.
